Water/Ways

Water/Ways, part of the Smithsonian Institution Traveling Exhibition Service Museum on Main Street (MoMS), will make its 20th stop around the country at the Fredericksburg Area Museum from January 27 – March 11, 2018. The Fredericksburg Area Museum is scheduling numerous events and public programs including lectures, collaborations with local Girl Scout Troops, and Friends of the Rappahannock, and a fundraiser (Ice Gala) in conjunction with the exhibition.

 

The Museum on Main Street exhibition Water/Ways is designed to reach small town museums as part of the Smitsonian’s #ThinkWater project. The #ThinkWater project offers an opportunity to explore water from scientific and cultural perspectives through a variety of programmatic opportunities. This unique project aims to raise appreciation for water as a vital resource for like, educate citizen and students about critical resource issues, bring people to an understanding about what water means culturally, socially, spiritually, and to their community, and to inspire people to conserve and protect water as an important resource.
