Stories of the Service

Central Gallery Window

Runs May 31 – September 1

The Fredericksburg Area Museum is dedicated to preserving and sharing the stories of the local men and women who served in our country’s armed forces. In addition to personal stories, Stories of the Service allows us to educate visitors on the many different duties that were performed by these men and women through our textile collection. This space is also a place to remember those we lost, through the personal stories and the lives they have touched.

Out and About: The Walk in Closet features the history, culture and talent of the LGTBQ+ community in our region. This exhibit, which spans four thousand years of global history with a focus on 200 years of local history, is highly interactive. A robust talent schedule will accompany this exhibit for its two-year duration and will start on June 23 at 2:00 p.m. with an improv workshop held by one of the exhibits featured artists, Quinn Alexander Fontaine.
