Heirlooms and Relics: A Portrait of a Community

Permanent Exhibition

Heirlooms & Relics: Portrait of a Community is one of only two permanent exhibitions on display and features several pieces from the museum’s furniture collection.  This exhibit illuminates the nature and fabric of eighteenth and nineteenth century Fredericksburg through fine arts while systematically highlighting the artisans and laborers who made the finery possible. The exhibit will draw sometimes direct, sometimes subtle connections between the manifestations of wealth and prosperity and the society that helped sustain it.
