OUT & ABOUT PROGRAMMING
The Fredericksburg Area Museum is thrilled to announce the event lineup for the LGBTQ+ exhibit Out and About: The Walk in Closet, which opened June 6th. The exhibit features four thousand years of global history with a focus on the past two hundred years of history in our region. The exhibit is accompanied by a robust talent schedule featuring artists, musicians and authors. See below for dates and details.

Improv Workshop with Quinn Fontaine in Council Chambers
Quinn Fontaine is an out and proud TRANS guy with a background in all things expressive. Quinn has written, produced and starred in independent features across the United States and Europe. His improv workshops are about connecting to a deeper version of yourself through PLAY!

Musical Performance by Triston James in Council Chambers
Triston is an artist, producer and vocal arranger whose styles range from folk to pop.

Book Talk with Jen Manion: Author of Female Husbands
Jen is a professor of history and political economy at Amherst College in Massachusetts. Female Husbands is the winner of the 2021 Best Second Monograph in Victorian Studies by the British Association for Victorian Studies, as well as a finalist for the 2021 Lawrence W. Levine Award by the Organization of American Historians. This talk is presented in partnership with the James Monroe Museum.

Ghost Stories in DRAG in Council Chambers held by the fierce and talented Shenandoah. This performance will be centered around ghost stories and lore from our very own region!

Book Talk with Jasmine Ford: Author of Flight of the Beautiful Lies: A Memoir and Surviving Being Black and Trans in America.
Jasmine is an author, model and the Commissioner of Health and HIV for the DMV region.
