Hallowed Ground Walking Tours
The Fredericksburg Area Museum (FAM), in association with Hallowed Ground Tours, presents a series of walking tours of downtown Fredericksburg and its historic neighborhoods on Saturdays of each holiday weekend of 2019.
Tour guides will discuss examples of four-centuries of architecture and unravel the history of people who helped shape the Fredericksburg community. These tours offer a glimpse of the rich layers of history that make up the community. Each tour lasts about 1-1/2 hours and are gentle walks of approximately 8 to 10 blocks.
Two separate tours will be featured:
Starting at 9:30AM, Bricks and Boards in the ’Burg will highlight four-centuries of history and architecture in the downtown area.
Starting at 11:30AM, This Old Town: A History of Our Homes will focus on a specific neighborhood in Fredericksburg’s historic district.
The cost for all tours is $9/adults, $4/children but FREE for FAM members. All participants receive discounted admission to the FAM following each tour. Simply pay the guide before each tour.
