Evening With An Expert: John Cummings

The Fredericksburg Area Museum (FAM) will reprise its popular, Evening with an Expert lecture series at the FAM on Tuesday, September 19, 2017 at 7:00 PM featuring writer and historian John Cummings.  Cummings’ latest book, Fredericksburg and Spotsylvania Through Time demonstrates not only the lasting tangibility of prominent landmarks of the region’s eventful past, but also the starkly contrasting disappearance of vernacular structure, the homes and workplaces of the common man. Cummings brings together remarkable combinations of then and now journalistic imagery and explores the identification process employed to solve some long-standing photographic mysteries.

 

Evening with an Expert will feature a 45-minute lecture from John Cummings followed by a 15-minute question and answer session and book signing.  Books will be available for purchase before and after the lecture.  Members of the Fredericksburg Area Museum are invited to a complimentary members-only reception following the lecture.
