Afternoon Discoveries: Powhatan People

Afternoon Discoveries with FAM are interactive, fun programs inspired by Fredericksburg’s past. These programs will take place at the Dorothy Heart Community Center (408 Canal St, Fredericksburg, VA) from 5pm – 6pm. Each session is $10 per child.  See below for a full list of programs.

 

Powhatan People: October 25th

(6 – 9 years old)

Discover what life was like for the Powhatan people along the Rappahannock River. Through discussion of artifacts, photographs, and drawings, students learn about the Virginia Indians’ traditional food ways, shelter, and clothing as well their reliance on natural resources.
