Join Germanna Community College and the Fredericksburg Area Museum on May 8th for a powerful screening of 2020 Year of the Nurse. Five years after the Covid-19 pandemic reshaped the world, the documentary sheds light on the courageous Black nurses and healthcare practitioners who faced the COVID-19 pandemic on the frontlines. Despite limited resources, long hours, and societal challenges, these heroes displayed unwavering resilience and strength.

The free event will take place at Germanna Community College’s Fredericksburg Area Campus (10000 Germanna Point Dr, Fredericksburg, VA) in Workforce Building, Room 105 A/B from 7 PM to 9 PM. Following the screening, a Q&A session with the filmmaker Robyn Roots and featured nurses will offer deeper insight into their experiences.

2020 Year of the Nurse offers a compelling look into the lives of those who served selflessly during one of the most challenging times in history.

About the Filmmaker: Robyn Roots is a seasoned nurse with over 35 years of experience, and a filmmaker dedicated to highlighting issues of diversity, equity, and inclusion. As the CEO of Klosa’ Productions, Robyn has directed multiple projects, including this impactful documentary celebrating nurses’ contributions during the COVID-19 pandemic. She is also the founder of Nurse Millionaire Path, empowering nurses to achieve financial freedom.
